AHA Heartsaver Total USCG

AMERHA-216 & The AHA Heartsaver Total USCG Approved First Aid CPR AED Certification Course

AMERHA-216 refers to the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Heartsaver Total USCG Approved First Aid CPR AED Certification Course (Code: AMERHA-216), specifically the version approved by the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) for merchant mariners to meet their first aid and CPR training requirements for licenses, requiring completion of all elective sections and a written exam for that specific certification. It’s a key certificate for obtaining or renewing a Captain’s License ensuring mariners can handle emergencies.

Key aspects of the AMERHA-216 & The AHA Heartsaver Total USCG Approved First Aid CPR AED Certificati

  •  Course Content: Covers standard first aid, CPR, and AED use.
  • USCG Approval: Meets requirements for merchant mariner credentials (MMC) under 46 CFR 11.201(i).
  • Specific Certificate: It’s a distinct certificate (often on a specific AHA/USCG form) that must accompany the standard AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED certification card, clearly showing the code AMERHA-216, names, and date.
  • Requirements: All elective sections of the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Total course must be completed, and for the USCG version, a written exam is required.
  • Why it’s important: Without this specific certificate, the Coast Guard will reject your application for a mariner credential.

In short: If you’re a mariner needing certification for your Captain’s License, Big Texas CPR LLC ensures your instructor provides the AMERHA-216 certificate after your Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED training.
