AHA Instructor Course update

Important Information. The AHA is updating all BLS course material.

In October of 2025 new material will be released. Current instructors will have to complete an online course reflecting these changes. In March of 2026 these changes must be taught to students. This means that all instructors must have the new Instructor Manual, the new Course videos, and new Student books. These new items are not covered in the price of current Instructor courses. Please know this is happening, and plan accordingly.

AHA Instructor Course Information

AHA BLS Provider Instructor information.

Presented by Big Texas CPR LLC, Learn how to teach others!

Important note: EVERY student MUST have their own email. If parents are setting this up for their child, they might have to create an email (maybe one that their child never uses?). We apologize for this inconvenience but all  eBooks, Online codes, and certification cards are sent to students via email and can only be sent directly to the student.

Instructors must be over 18 years of age.

Instructors must have a laptop or computer. Tablets do not work for presenting classes or accessing the mandatory online sites.

Instructors must have a smart phone.

AHA mandates this as a live class - hybrid options are no longer an option.

Click here to find a class that works for you.

Total cost is $550. This includes the mandatory initial alignment with a AHA Training Site or Center, a reserved seat in a live class, the online Instructor Essentials course, one BLS Provider Manual, one BLS Instructor Manual, and one set of BLS Course videos. Every Instructor must have their own copies.

As an AHA BLS Instructor, you'll be able to teach the following AHA class types:

  • BLS Provider CPR
  • Heartsaver CPR/AED
  • Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED
  • Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR/AED
  • Heartsaver for K-12 Schools
  • Heartsaver First Aid Only
  • Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens

Note: Heartsaver courses require additional instructor manuals, student books, and course videos (for teaching Heartsaver students). These items are available for sale when you register for your BLS Instructor class.

You will also be able to:

  • Teach at your place of employment or outside work by holding your own classes.
  • Issue certification cards to students.
  • Post your classes on the AHA class locator.
  • Teach anywhere in the US.

You  must have a current AHA BLS Provider CPR certification at the time of  your class.  If  you do not have a current AHA BLS Provider CPR certification, let us know and we can provide it at a discounted price.

We provide ongoing support. No  matter where you plan to teach your CPR classes, whether it's at your  place of employment or your own business, we can help you get off to a  fast start and provide ongoing support.
